Thornton weiler

Thornton is a licensed architect practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 20 years. His firm utilizes Lidar and CAD modeling technology for client visualization and preparation of high quality electronic drawing documents and specifications. The company specializes in residential remodeling, new residential construction as well as commercial projects.  Thornton also collaborates with a prominent Design/Build firm in San Mateo assisting with project cost, design and construction of multiple residential remodeling projects.

His interest in Architecture started in high school and continued in college where he graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Architecture. Thornton moved to the Bay Area in 1989 and worked at an AE multi-discipline firm and two award winning firms in San Francisco, including BDE Inc and Architecture + Light where he gained experience with retail, office, residential, and multi-family mixed use  projects.  Eventually Thornton started his firm in Alameda and focused on residential work, particularly historic houses. In 2017 Thornton won an Architectural Preservation Award.  

Thornton brings energy, passion and aesthetic sensibility to each of his client’s projects. His philosophy is to build each project twice, first thoughtfully planned and secondly in construction.
